Stitch Fix (Second Chance)

You can check out my LIVE box opening Heidi’s Happy Hour to see the whole reveal.

Round two on my Stitch Fix adventure!

Round one was not successful, but round two is looking much better.  What went wrong on my first attempt…hmmm…well, I received mostly all petite sizing, and while I am short, I have long legs and a very awkwardly short mid-section, so petites rarely work for me.  The style of clothing was also a bit off for my taste.  I reevaluated my  parameters in the stitch fix app on my phone, took out all petite sizing, added more pins to my linked Pinterest board that more clearly stated my style -side note here, weird because I really don’t feel like I have a set style.  I’m sorta all over the board from classic, to trendy, athletic, to dressy-but anywho, I updated it all and gave the green light to my stylist Ashli for my next box.

What’s in the box?

Blazer: Love the shape/style, fit well, wasn’t crazy about the denim color for me and when/what I would wear it for.

Verdict: Sent back

Skinny Jean: I am in love with this jean!  I would have never picked this color for myself, but love it.  The top is elastic, like as in not maternity pant, maternity pant elastic…need I say more!  Fit was perfect for my curvy legs.  I am the queen of waste gap, leg fits or leg is so tight I can’t get into them, but the waist is perfect.  These were perfect in both areas.

Verdict: Keeper  edited…Sent back (loved them, but thought the color was just too trendy.)

Skirt: Perfect fit/length.  High quality, fully lined.  Really cute color and *LOVE* the zipper detail.  This will get a lot of use all year around for me.

Verdict: Keeper

V-Back Shirt: Love the style, colors are fun, and fabric is very nice.  I am not thrilled about the pattern and think for me its a little too trendy and not sure I would wear it after this season.

Verdict: Sent Back

Crochet Trim Shirt: It’s March, I own nothing green and this is the most beautiful hue of green.  Shirt is well made, has adorable detail and I can see getting a lot of use out of it.  I think it would be adorable paired with jeans for a night out or with black pencil skirt and blazer for work.  I’ve already wore it, so yes, its a keeper!

Verdict: Keeper

Styling sheet is one of my favorite things about Stitch Fix, you see different ways to wear the pieces, day to night or casual to work.  I also love the personalized note that my stylist left for me.  Ashli really did a great job on this box.

The million dollar question

and the one that I have gotten asked often is this…what is the cost?  I will say that while I have the parameter set to “cheaper the better”, the cost is still a little more than what I would normally pay when shopping at TJ Maxx or Marshals, but I do feel the quality of the clothing is also much nicer than I would get as well. I loved that I didn’t have to physically go to the store to shop, in my world, time is money, and spending time shopping often costs us money on the other end.  I also really appreciated that someone else was giving me fresh ideas on pieces that I may not necessarily have picked myself.  I *LOVE* the coral colored skinny jeans, but in my real world shopping would never of picked them.

Final verdict…

I will be stitch fixing again!  What’s the worse that happens, I just send it all back!  What’s the best case arisen, I keep it all and get 25% off my whole order!  Win/Win in my book!
